zed eCommerce works best with high volume B2C and B2B merchants with 10,000 to 100,000 items.
Q. Is zed eCommerce just a shopping cart?
zed eCommerce is a fully functional eCommerce platform with dozens of features beyond a simple shopping cart.
Q. What payment gateways are supported?
PayPal, Authorize.Net, PayflowPro, SkipJack, and Ogone. More payment gateway connections can be made via our payment gateway API.
Q. What payment types can the customer use when ordering?
All major credit cards and those supported by the chosen payment gateway, and Paypal.
Q. Can zed eCommerce support deferred (i.e. manual) card processing?
Yes, an authorization can be made during checkout and a capture of funds at a later date.
Q. Do I need a merchant account to use your product?
No, a merchant account is not necessary to start selling online. If you already have a merchant account, you can continue to use it with zed eCommerce.
Q. Can I customize my store look?
Yes, the layout and design of the store is driven via theme-based functionality and is fully customizable.
Q. Does zed eCommerce support secure transactions?
Yes, if the IIS server is configured with SSL support. An SSL certificate is required if accepting credit card payments.
Q. Can the store owner manage the products via a web control panel?
Yes, there is an Administration control panel where product management can be performed in addition to hundreds of other controls for the storefront.
Q. Does zed eCommerce work with other HTML templates?
A theme can be created from any HTML template.
Q. Does zed eCommerce support product variations?
zed eCommerce supports shopper item customization and configuration.
Q. Are subcategories supported?
Yes the product supports unlimited sub categorization
Q. Can I get real time shipping rates from UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, and Canada Post?
At this time FedEx real time shipping rate functionality is included by default. Summer 2010 we will be releasing a patch that adds UPS, and USPS.
Q. Can I use my negotiated shipping rates?
Yes, shipping rates are configurable so you can use your own negotiated rates.
Q. Can I print shipping labels?
Yes, from within SAP Business One.
Q. Can I add an extra "handling fee" to all orders?
Yes, this can be done at the order or per item, and can be a range based on the sub-total of the order, or the total weight of the order.
Q. Can I specify taxes down to the county level?
Yes, taxes can be specified at the Federal, State, City and County level.
Q. Will zed eCommerce work in Canada and Europe? What countries will it work in?
zed eCommerce is localized for USA, Canada, UK, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Australia and New Zealand.
Q. Does it support internationalization / multi-language?
Yes, translations can be done easily with our "String Editor" plug-in, and date and currency format will follow the localization chosen for the theme.
Q. Does zed eCommerce capture a list of customers for email marketing?
Yes.

Q. How many licenses do I need to buy?
Each server will need one eCommerce license.
Q. What fees are involved?
The eCommerce software comes with two licensed users, and additional users can be purchased. See your SAP Business One partner for pricing.
Q. How many sites can we use zed eCommerce on?
There is no limit to the number of websites that can be powered by zed eCommerce. Licensing is done per server.
Q. Is technical support extra?
Support is provided through your zedIT Solution Partner.
Q. What support do you offer?
We offer support to our zedIT Solution Partners, and free access to our support forum, tips and tricks and knowledge base to our customers.
Q. How do I upgrade?
Upgrades are performed by using the same Installer program used to create the eCommerce website.
Q. How long do I get product updates? How frequently is the product updated?
Subscription to the license agreement lasts one year, and typically a patch is released every 2-3 months.
Q. Do I need SAP Business One to use this software?
Yes, the software synchronizes with SAP Business One for back office functions like accounting, order fulfillment, and inventory.
Q. What do I need to run zed eCommerce?
Windows 2003 or 2008 with IIS, SQL Server 2005 or 2008.
Q. Does zed eCommerce work with Microsoft Access or MySQL?
No, the supported databases are SQL Server 2005 or 2008.
Q. Where can I host zed eCommerce?
You can host zed eCommerce with a hosting company or on your own servers.
Q. Is my Web site and customer information secure with zed eCommerce?

Q. How long does it take to set up my store when I purchase?
It usually takes 2-4 weeks for installation, design, testing, and go live.
Q. Can I modify zed eCommerce after purchase?
Yes, a fully documented SDK, installation and administration documentation, and training materials are included in the download.
Q. Is Source Code Available, and in what language(s)?
Source code for the extended plug-in functionality is included, but not the base product. It is written in ASP.NET 2.0 platform, using C#.

Yes, it is quite easy to integrate eCommerce with an existing site

You do not need a programmer to use the software unless you want to customize the distributed code.

Yes, your store administration panel can be accessed through a web browser.
Q. I don't have any experience building websites. Can I still use zed eCommerce?
Yes, a basic storefront can easily be created.
Q. How do I design my Web site?
The built in Theme Designer has WYSIWYG editors that can be used. In addition, Themes are designed using .Net Master Pages, CSS and any client-side technology.
Q. I already have a domain. Can I continue to use it with my zed eCommerce store?
Yes, an existing domain can be used for your web store.
